Welcome to the Responsible Packaging Movement
What if we could all change the way our products are packaged by eliminating outdated materials that overflow the landfill, and replace them with earth-friendly options that work just as well? Let’s make it happen, together. #ReshapePackaging

Because We’re Better Together
At prAna, we strive to make and deliver our clothing with the goal of minimizing our environmental impact. In 2010, we started implementing a grassroots approach to reduce plastic in our packaging and we've been reimagining product packaging in our direct channels ever since.

Today, we've hit our goal of completely eliminating plastic from our consumer packaging in 2021 and use of materials from ancient and endangered forests in 2022.

To create a deeper impact and industry-wide change, we launched The Responsible Packaging Movement in 2020, where over 150 brands joined our mission to eliminate excess packaging waste from our supply chains in a responsible, long-lasting way.

“We’ve been working toward eliminating plastic for many years but being part of a larger coalition working toward similar goals has been invaluable… the learnings from other RPM members about their experience removing polybags from the supply chain have been insightful and inspiring. Having a community to share ideas and feedback with has helped us move our plastic-free initiatives forward.

How Can I Join the Responsible Packaging Movement?
By joining this mission, you are aiming to make responsible choices in order to reduce single-use plastic packaging, virgin forest fiber packaging, and excess packaging waste in your everyday life. Since you are clearly a conscious consumer, we want you to create your own goal, something that you're truly passionate about.

Then share it with us and your friends on your favorite social media channel—be sure to tag @prana and #ReshapePackaging so we can follow along and support your journey.

Here’s some inspiration to help spark ideas for your own personal goal:

  • To avoid needing to use single-use food packaging to carry my leftovers and take-out orders, I commit to bringing my own re-usable containers to restaurants.
  • As I run out of my current beauty and self-care products, I commit to replacing them with brands that come in sustainable and/or refillable packaging.
  • I commit to reducing my use of paper products (paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, etc.) by either swapping them with re-usable options like cloth wipes or buying responsibly sourced options.
You are not in this alone. We realize that big goals need a lot of helping hands, and we know you’ll need support, tools, and a community to help you reach them. Success looks like all of us working together and striving towards progress. It won’t be perfect every day, and that’s totally okay.

To get started, we’re offering a number of ways for you to connect within the Movement. From guides to social media takeovers, we are here to support your journey.

We will provide:
  • Ideas on how to share your story and progress on social media
  • Collaboration space on social media for you and other like-minded community members
So you’ve joined the Movement, you’ve picked a goal that’s personal to you, and you’re ready to start working towards it every day. Now, it’s time to start posting.

Share your commitment on social by tagging @prana and #ReshapePackaging.

Packaging Equals: e-commerce shipping packaging and any on-product packaging such as, but not limited to; individual product bags or wraps, hang tags, joker tags, labels, label/hang-tag attachments, stickers, moisture-control packs or tissue, and protective wrappings on trims.

What this movement doesn’t include: master carton packaging, local or international shipping boxes/containers, and/or product storage at distribution centers. (But we certainly won’t be upset if you include these in your goals too!)
