Winter Zion Pant is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 79.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice that they are making these in a short length. I wanted to purchase a pair of these last winter but all they made was a 32" length. I was surprised when the customer rep informed me that they would start making them in a short length for this winter. I purchased them as soon as they were available. The temps have been in the 80's during the day so I haven't had the chance to put them to the test but I will give my first impressions. Even with the liner they fit true to size and fit like the original Stretch Zions. The lining material is super soft and comfy and feels good to the skin. I can't speak to the warmth at this point as it is still to warm but to try them out under cold conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love them... lined - but not hot 6' - 135lbs., 30-34 is a perfect fit for me. The winter version of the Zion pants, makes the world’s most awesome pants even more versatile. I appreciate that the lining is not overkill in these! You can transition from inside your house to outside in below freezing temps, to inside a warm car… and be protected from the cold but never feel like you want to rip your pants off because you’re overheating when inside. My only recommendation is that I would like to see them offered in a straight cut version for us slim people. But not a huge deal because I like my winter pants a little looser for layering when needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extra warmth and a soft hand make my favorite pants even better I give these pants a five star rating. Does that mean they're perfect. In a word, yes. Perfect for me. The fit is very comfortable, and the extra bit of stretch is perfect for a guy with a dad bod paunch. The original Zion Stretch Pants have been a mainstay of my wardrobe all year long. But they weren't warm (which is um enhanced by the gussetted and ventilated crotch) so during the winter I typically wear them with long Johns. The winter variety of the Zions provides that extra bit of warmth and to my skin, they feel soft and a bit more comfy than the originals. They retain the ventilation down under. The only drawback is that I've only found them in two colors. I can't wait for these in a black or dark blue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not too Hot, Not too Cold I'd been eyeing these pants for two years and was always late securing my size, until this year. I work outside in 25 degree weather doing physical labor. The first impression of wearing them in the cold was that they weren't that warm, until I started working. As long as I was moving and doing my thing, these winter zions kept my legs comfortably warm. Which is quite nice when compared to the snow pants which cause overheating almost immediately. Ive received compliments and enjoy the elasticity for flexible maneuvering. Pockets are in great locations and good size. My only gripe is the insulation can be seen through the paints, which appear as little white dots. They can only be seen up close, so really it's not a big issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Activities Outdoors in the Winter First saw these pants in the Boulder location on Pearl St in October and really digged them. Being 6'3, an avid cyclist and personal trainer, finding pants that fit in the leg is crucial for me and theses pants are great for that! I already own a pair of the regular Stretch Zion anyways so need something to wear in the winter without throwing a pair of tights on underneath. I would recommend to anyone who is doing any type of activities outdoors in the cold from cycling to going out with friends, these pants are that versatile!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great but slightly tighter than non-winter Zion I have several pairs of the regular Zion Pants and Shorts and love them, but the wind cuts right though them in the winter. So, I decided to get the Winter Zion pants. I double-checked the sizing on my regular Zions before ordering, but the Winter version is definitely tighter. I can feel them stretching, but I am probably still going to exchange them for one size larger. Just test wearing them outside in the cold, I could tell these were going to be just what I needed on really cold outings, I just need to dial in the fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and warm The Winter Zion are a good companion to the Stretch Zion pant. I have the Stretch Zion which I have found to be very comfortable all-around pair of pants, but especially for hiking. The Winter Zion are basically the same pant (with an extra pocket on the right leg) except that they have a brushed lining that holds in warmth. When the mornings start cold, they're warm; as the day heats up, they are still comfortable; I don't think I would wear them when it gets into the 70's; they are (as they are called) a winter pant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great update to the Winter Zion This is a good upgrade to the older Winter Zion. The fleece liner is now welded to the shell of the pant whereas in previous versions it was more of a fleece pant stitched inside the shell (apologies if my description isn’t clear). In short, way easier to pull on over socks and a base layer. However, the fleece isn’t as thick or quite as warm. I would like this pant better without the cargo pockets, but they lay fairly flat so they don’t stand out badly or look too weird. Overall, great update to the Winter Zion.

How does the fit of this compare to the stretch zion vs the stretch zion straight? I'm looking for something as slim as the stretch zion straight, the normal stretch zion is too loose for me

Asked by: Gerald
Try it out, they include a free return shipping label in the package. I personally switched to the zioneer over the regular stretch Zion pant because the zioneer we're more fitting. I'm 6'1 240 lbs if that helps at all. I would say the winter pant more closely resembles the zioneer. I have not purchased the straight Zions but they seem comparable to the zioneer.

What makes them "Winter" pants as opposed to the other Stretch Zion Pants??

Asked by: Anonymous
The "winter" Zion has a thin lining to the pant. This adds extra warmth that the regular Zion does not offer. So they are ideal for colder days around town or fall hiking when you need a little more but aren't looking to layer. The other upside it that it hads no extra bulky feeling so you get the free moving advantage of the regular Zion. They may feel a little snugger because of the extra material but not enough to go up a size.
