Stretch Zion Convertible Pant is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 78.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from These need a better design. I like the Zion material on these as well as their water resistance and breathability. What I don't care for is the overall design. While I've found the shorts on other brands' convertibles to be too short, these are way too long where the pants zippers hit me on the knees. The pants portion is really bag, even for a hiking pant, with no taper whatsoever. There are no zips at the leg bottoms to assist with removing them over boots. The pant zippers are not color coordinated or tagged for the left and right leg. And finally, unlike the Zion shorts, there is security flap on the back pocket. Whoever designed these should put in a great effort to creating a true hiking/travel pant.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A rare miss by prana I took a chance on these pants despite some negative reviews, but I had to return them. The length of the shorts inseam (12") causes the zipper to annoyingly hit the knee with EVERY step. Prana really needs to shorten the shorts inseam by at least an inch, maybe two, to eliminate this problem. The stretch zion short have both a 12" inseam and 10" inseam option, and so should these pants. In addition, as others have mentioned, the legs should have at least some taper so it doesn't look so ridiculously baggy. I own six other pairs of pants and shorts by Prana and love them, but these convertibles are a miss.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My new favorite pants I love these pants. I must have weird length legs because everyone is saying that the zippers land on their knees and are uncomfortable. I have never noticed so they must not hit me in the same place. The pants are a touch slim in the waist, but since I think I sit between a 35 and a 36, they fit me perfectly. I wear them as often as shorts as I do pants. I was wary at first to get convertible pants, but now I don't have to pack separate pants and shorts when traveling. The stretch is heaven. The way they move with you is just amazing. I'll definitely be picking up another pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Two Tough Weeks in the Talkeetna Mountains of Alaska I wore these pants for two weeks on a NOLS Backpacking course in the Talkeetna Mountains of Alaska. I wore them everyday of the trip, where I crossed rivers, slid down drainages, fell in snow and bushwacked through deep brush. Through all this abuse the pants held strong and never tore. At first I was worried the pants were to lite and not tough enough for the trip, boy was I wrong. Great Pair of Pants highly recommend them.Note: Did have one issue. The zipper handle broke off from one of my major falls, but was easily remedied with a safety pin

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crisp look, good for broken legs... I bought a pair of the regular Stretch Zion pants two months ago and love them. I broke my leg a month ago and needed a pair of pants that I can remove one leg to fit over the cast and saw the Stretch Zion Convertibles and knew that they would be great. I was right. I actually love them more than the regulars since there is one more pocket. The bottoms easily zip off. When left on, the bottoms still drape nice. I have another pair of (non-Prana) convertibles that look sloppy compared to the Pranas. Wrinkle-free and very crisp looking, and the fabric has a nice heft and feel to it. I'm ordering another pair since I'm going to be one-legging it for another month. I know that when I'm back on two legs these will still be my favorites.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Far better than expected. I own multiple pairs of Zion pants and shorts and love them all. In the past I have owned other convertible pants and they have always looked and functioned poorly as either, but not so with the Zion. Pants look great in long mode and in short mode they are comfortable and do not look zipped off. Long pant opening is a little larger which is great for zipping then on an doff without taking off my shoes. I am 6' 3" and wear a 14. I zipped then on and off on airplanes with no problem when going to and from the tropics. Zippers are easy to start and zip around. There is a right and left so make sure which one you are putting on which leg. HIghly recommend. Now my go to travel pand and will use for backpacking. My packing just got lighter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I really like these pants. I like that my iPhone Plus fits into the side pocket easily. Even though they are men's pants and I am a woman, I think I look good in them. I like that I can tighten the waist. One problem with the pants I just got is that the buttonhole was too tight. I needed to make it a little larger. I also would have liked a 29 inch length possibility.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Zipper is too low and hits knee The shorts portion should be designed just 1 inch shorter or so (so that the zipper is 1" higher or so) because unless you have very long legs, the zipper that separates the upper section from the lower section hits your knee every time you take a step and it gets very annoying - essentially the zipper section rubs against your knee and doesn't smoothly go over the knee. Other than this they are great pants, BUT this is enough to make me not buy them. If the zipper is higher then I will DEFINITELY be buying a pair of these.

How do these fit in the thighs-rear? My husband it fit and sometimes pants are too tight in these areas. Prana seems like sometimes it works best for skinny dudes and not as well for stockier-muscle build. Hoping these may work.

THey fit very well! I have very large legs and sometimes have trouble finding pants that work, but I have no problems with my zion pants

How long is the inseam once the legs are zipped off? Other convertible shorts make me look like the crocodile hunter when I unzip the legs. I am hoping These shorts are a little bit longer than other brands.

Asked by: Anonymous
Shorts are defenitly longer than most convertible pants. I have a few that are well above the knee cap these fall right around or below my knee cap.

Does stretch zion breath?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes. I use it for traveling because of that. YMMV, of course.
