Mantra Pant is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 135.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Pants I like these pants. They are sturdier than the former design. I really love the weight and feel of the fabric. My only dislike is the difference in the waist band and general fit of this pant. I have an XS in the former design, and an XS in these --- the new design fits well through the legs (still a little too long for my shorter build, like the former design), but the waist is much tighter and compresses from the hip bone all the way to just below the belly button. I think I preferred the thinner, tying waistband a bit more. The color, style and fabric are just wonderful! This would be a great pant to use with a tight ankle design ;)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great drape, comfy stretch, dress up or down! These pants are lovely. The linen look and feel with a little bit of stretch is genius!! I also love the wife stretchy waistband. My one complaint is the very short waist. They want to ride up a bit higher on my medium curvy figure and so they tend to ride up my middle. More curvy figures will definitely have a harder time with these. I’m 5’ 4” and the small just barely fits, but I tried the medium and the waist is too big- so I went with small. They wide legged casual dress up or down look is what I was after, so these fit that bill perfectly. I look forward to traveling with them and taking advantage of their diversity.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Waistband seems a little tight? In Prana pants I'm usually between a 0 and a 2 (a 26 in jeans normally), so I got an extra small in these pants. I have some hip, and the waist band of the mantra cuts into the love-handle region and I look like I'm popping out of the top a little bit. I haven't gotten around to going in-store to try a small, so for now they are just sitting on my dresser. the length is juuuust right, I'm 5'7" and they don't drag on the ground at all, which makes me a bit nervous about the first wash shrink situation. The material feels great, and I like the fit of these better when compared to other similar styles from Prana. Can't wait to wear them, just need to decide whether to exchange!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very small rise I should have paid more attention to the reviews and was hoping that the picture showed an updated version/cut. I loved the length (some people complain it is too long - I'm 5'9 and they were perfect). But the Rise (crotch to the top of waist) is really short for the type of waist these have. A wide band waist should come higher. As is they create a weird pooch or muffin top above the pant and are not comfortable. I will be sending these back unfortunately.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for the shorties unless you like to hem Wanted to love them but even in an XS the waist and hips were too big, and especially the length was wayyy too long- like, 6"+ too long! Granted, I am petite (5' even/115lbs), so most of Prana doesn't really fit me. I thought about getting them hemmed but the waist and hip areas also scrunch pretty oddly - which partially could just be how they fit on me - but meaning they arent right for me to keep. Didn't notice anything lacking on the quality of the pant and likely would be cute on someone more average-sized.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loved old cut, new cut is disappointing. The old cut was wonderful. Had to have them hemmed but fit so well. Ordered them in a few colors and wear them often. They pack really well. But just ordered a new color not realizing they cut the pant differently now. Yuck! Too short from crotch to waist band and the same size I had in two old cut, way to tight. Very disappointed. But love that PrAna has a great return policy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite linen pants! I adore linen pants and these fit so perfect. I'm 5'7 and 130 lbs and ordered a size small. I have long legs so I did not find them too long as some people have stated in their reviews. I also did not find the length from the waist to the inseam to be too short as some people have also said in reviews. I was worried the elastic waist band would look and fit like maternity pants but it does not. It fits firmly against my stomach. These pants could be dressed up or down and will make good pants for teaching my Pre-K kids in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from comfy and classic I was SO happy when Prana started making the women's Mantra with the stretchy waistband (I was envious of the men's version). These are super comfy but still look like nice pants (as opposed to pajama pants). The waistband is just right, not letting them fall off my hips but still comfortable. I have an athletic build (aka big thighs) but the wide leg fits nicely and doesn't seem to make the thighs look even bigger. I'm 5'4" 125 and a small fits just right (though the fabric touches the ground without shoes on).Love them!

does it need to be ironed?

Asked by: Anonymous
You can iron them on low but it shouldn't be necessary. The care instructions are to machine wash cold gentle with like colors, non-chlorine bleach when needed, wash inside out, and line dry.

Is there a noticeable difference in fit between the current and older versions of these pants? (Older version had a rib-knit waist with drawstring. The current ones have a wide waistband.)

Asked by: Anonymous
I don't know about the older ones, but this waist band is pretty thick. It was kind of uncomfortable on a day that I had some stomach problems (bloating). I would like it better with a drawstring!

Is there a noticeable difference in overall fit between this version with the wide waistband and the previous version with the rib-knit drawstring waistband?

Asked by: Anonymous
I agree, the waistband is significantly tighter and sits a little differently on the waist, extending higher toward the midline of the belly.

Is there a noticeable difference in overall fit between this version of the Mantra (with wide waistband) and the previous version that had a rib-knit drawstring waistband?

Asked by: Kero
Very different... the new wide waistband is much less forgiving. There is very limited stretch. The previous version i have is an elastic waist with a drawstring that is looser and definitely more comfortable.

I'm going to be traveling between 4 and 5.5 mo pregnant. Thinking these pants might be a great solution, since I'll just be starting to show but will definitely need some flexibility in fit. Thoughts?

Asked by: Abigail
Yes! I think they would be perfect for that. They are very lose fitting in the legs. And, the band isn't terribly tight. Safe travels!
