Kara Jean is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 1169.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love these jeans, except in white I own a pair of indigo Kara jeans that I love: they are very comfortable, lightweight, with a perfect balance of stretch to be both comfortable and good-looking. The color is easy to wear and pairs well with absolutely anything else; it is also nice enough to slightly elevate daily jeans. The fit is snug, but not as "painted on" as some skinnies.Based on my love for the indigo, I ordered a pair of white Kara, but alas their being lightweight plays against them in that color. The white pants were so transparent you could clearly see the white pockets and my flesh-colored underwear, so I had to send them back. Will buy again - in a dark color!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super comfy and stylish! These are my new favorite jeans! There is the perfect amount of cotton to be comfy and just the right amount of stretch for active wear. I wasn't sure on the sizing (5'2" & between 125-130lbs.) so I went with size 4 for a slimmer fit. At first I thought they were too snug but gave them a shot because they were so comfortable and after living in them a couple hours I knew they were keepers. The longer length is not a problem on me as they look great rolled, bunched a bit over flats, and obviously work well with heels when I want to dress them up. I machine wash but don't dry and it's mantaining quality wonderfully. Looking forward to buying more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I was so surprised! I read a lot of reviews and went back and forth for months about whether or not i would risk ordering pants i couldn't try on. I struggle with jeans because of my active body. Most pants are too tight on the thighs and leave me feeling like my legs are tied together, and then if they fit by booty they gap at my waist. Its a real conundrum! I read enough positive reviews from other active women, that i finally decided to take the plunge. The second i got them on I loved them. they give where needed and hug where necessary. I bet i could do a full yoga practice in them! Im a 6-8 in lululemon, and 28 in jeans, and i am glad I ordered the 6 in prana. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best jean I have ever bought!!! This is by far the best jean I have ever bought. I usually only wear jeans when I am going out. I usually do not find jeans to be very comfortable and would never wear jeans on a long car ride or plane trip. The thought of having to wear jeans all day long is dreadful, until I purchased this jean. It is by far the most comfortable jean in the world. It feels like I am lounging at home in my yoga pants. And it is a skinny jean too! It is very flattering! The slightly long length makes it versatile to cuff, wear in your boots or wear with flats. I am going to buy 3 more as soon as my size comes back in stock. I will never wear another jean again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile! I love these pants! I have them in 4 different colors/prints. I wear them for work or for play. The 'denim' color is more grey which works well for me as I can wear them in my work environment. The biggest drawback-the reason I only gave them 4 stars was for the sizing. 2 pairs I have are size 10-my normal Prana pant size and 2 are size 8. I have purchased these in different seasons and thought that is what made the size difference. But, I recently bought 2 pair this season and in the denim color was a size 8, but the cool green color was a size 10. Was annoying to order, return, re-order etc. But.... I do love these pants!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from these should not be called jeans because these are the best fitting, most comfortable 'jeans' I have ever owned. They fit. Period. There is no gaping at the back of the waist. They don't bind. I didn't have a muffin top. I love the longer length so I can wear them cuffed or not. The color (purchased green) is great and neutral enough to wear with almost any color top. In the catalog they show the model climbing a wall in these - I was amused by that image thinking "really? climbing in jeans?". You would absolutely be able to do that and more. If I win a GC for this review - I am absolutely going to spend it on buying another pair. BTW - I'm 5'8", 150lbs, ordered size 10. Fit was true to size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sizing inconsistent, sz 4 and 6 I own 3 prs of these from the past 2 years. All of them are sz 6. I am 5'5", 128lbs and somewhat rectangular-shaped. I just tried on the denim color in a sz 4 and 6. The 6 was much looser than the 3 prs I own. It would work with a belt (waist too loose), although it would be too baggy once worn and stretched out. The 4 was the best fit, but then the rise is little small and back coverage may be a problem when bending over. Sizing seems to have changed for 2016: everything I have ordered has been different sizes than the last 5 years. The small yoga tank tops are now too tight in the bra-shelf elastic, and I've needed to go down to sz 4s in pants (Halle's too).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Prana makes the only pants I like I own three pairs of these pAnts and I can't get enough of them! I'm so excited to get the cargo green in size 2. When I saw that they were sold out, the universe collapsed a little bit. I need the universe to be right again. prAna, you're my only hope. The unicorns are gone. Pluto is no longer a planet. I just need my faith in humanity restored. On another note, these pants are flipping the BOMB. For an athletic girl like me 5'6", 125lb, I wear size 2 and they fit around my oh-so-muscular calves, do wonders to my thighs, and still fit perfectly around my hips. They hug my lower body all day. I feel so much love from them. I hope they feel the same love from me.

how does it fit?

Great fitting jean. For reference, I am 5'4"" about 124 and purchased a size 0 in both denim & indigo. The denim stretches out more during the day than the indigo but I tried a 00 & the fit was too snug. With that said I would still recommend the Kara, great jean for active lifestyle & I will continue to buy others!

Anyone out there own both the Kara and Kayla jeans? Are they typically sized differently? My Kara's in a 6 are MUCH tighter than my Kayla's in a 4. Thanks!

Asked by: Jennifer
I am in a constant battle with the fit of Prana pants. I have both and find that the Kara is looser around the legs and not very flattering. The Kayla jean is a tad more tapered in the leg. I am returning both for the London Jean since those seem to have a more fitted leg. I am in 4 in all Prana pants so far except fo the Brenna. Which I'm a 6. I'm 5'2 121lb

I was wondering about the rise of the Kara and Kayla Jean. I like a low rise, but not too low at the back so they gape when you bend over?

Asked by: Anonymous
The rise feels 'medium' - i prefer low rise as well and these are not officially low. I wear them with a shirt untucked. The good news is that when you bend over, everything is covered and your undies don't show. I love these jeans. They move with you.

How many inches is the rise on theseHow many inches is the rise on the Kara?

Asked by: Anonymous
HI, Sorry, I can not give a specific answer for this question as I do not have Prana technical/measurement specifications available to me. I can tell you that I'm 5'8" and I wear a size 8 and these jeans are about 4-finger widths below my belly button. Hope this helps!

Is Kara with the lowest rise? Looking at jada too. Is that as low of a rise?

Asked by: Anonymous
I've owned 3 pair of Kara. Not high and not low...it is 'perfect' rise! I'm 5'4" 115 lbs. and they fit fit me perfectly! Not sure about the Jada.

what color is "denim" - is it blue or black?

Asked by: Anonymous
It is a darker blue than a tradition Jean, but far from black. I really enjoy the denim color from prAna!
