Essex Pant is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 63.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from So I would give 5 stars for these because I love them. They fit great, they’re a little tight to begin with but they stretch out a bit as you wear them, but nothing extreme so they’re still nice!! I wear them for work and they’re comfortable to be in all day. I took a star off because I went to pull the pants up slightly and the belt loop hole ripped. And I’m sorry but if I’m paying $80-90 for a pair of pants, me pulling them up shouldn’t do squat to them. I’ve had them for 2 weeks, possibly 3 so they shouldn’t be ripping so soon. I’m 5’5 & 125 lbs & I ordered a size 2 and they fit great, just needs reinforced belt loops I guess.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Functional pants but not for adventures I am a solid size 2 in Prana sizing. I am a muscular skinny with very little curves. These pants are not stretchy so the size 2 fit but wasn’t perfect. I have muscular calves so the pants are fitted around my calves and kind of loose in the thigh and waist region. Due to my calves i did not bother trying a size 0. They do not look bad. They have a nice relaxed look to them and i find them to be very comfortable. I cannot wear these pants rock climbing because there is no stretch. So business casual and everyday comfort is what i wear these for. I do recommend these pants for everyday wear. One last things... They are NOT water repellent like other Prana pants.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh. Not my favorite. Meh. Not my favorite prana pant. They are cute but the fit isn’t great. I read lots of reviews for sizing and it’s seemed like I would be a 2. I could get them on and wore them for a day but they were too tight. So I returned and ordered a 4. But it hardly feels any different, a little less tight but not by a lot. Prana pant sizing can be frustrating- ive tried on 4s that were too big and smalls that were baggy in other style pants but I think I would be a 6 in this style for them to be comfortable. I will keep them cause I don’t want to lose another $8 for return shipping but I wouldn’t recommend ordering them online. Buy them somewhere you can try on a few sizes. I’m 5’3” about 120lbs for reference.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pant, bring on more colors! These are the pants I have been looking for [for the most part]. I normally climb outside in baggy pants (like the Avril pant) because I hate having any leg restrictions, but sometimes baggy is just too much pant. These are skinny-fitted pants, but are super stretchy, just what I want. I only have 1 concern on fit - the size 0 fit perfectly as a regular non-outdoors pant, but were too tight for climbing in while the size 2 legs fit perfectly for climbing, but the waist is loose. Wish there was a built-in way to tighten the waist like the Halle pant so I don't have to wear a belt under my harness. For reference, I am 5'3" and ~125. I wear a 0 or XS in most Prana pants. Also, new/different colors would be rad!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome pants Prana knocked it out of the ballpark with these pants. They are cotton based (more than half) and are fitted enough, but also loose. I really am happy that Prana is going for organic cotton and making more of their clothing with it, as well as with hemp! For this pant, I did end up sizing up from a 4 to a 6. I'm 5'0 tall, about 117 pounds, and curvier in the backside. The 4 did fit fine, but it was more fitted and became really uncomfortable for me in the upper thigh/bikini area and wasn't pleasant to sit with. It was way too tight there, sadly. The 6 is a little loser than I would like, but still looks great and will be perfect for outdoor hiking. I can wear it all day without any issues. Currently, these are my work pants and I love them :).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Favorite Pants! I shudder at the thought of buying pants sight unseen because I have a small waist but muscular thighs + a big butt... but these pants are perfect! I am 5'5", 135 pounds + got a size 4 that are the perfect size. They are comfortable, and I love that I can wear them to work + then head out on a trail right afterwards. (I do work in a business casual setting.) They do stretch out a little bit after wearing once or twice, so a belt might be a good idea after that. Overall, I would absolutely buy these again + highly recommend them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wear a belt and go a size up from Kaylas! These pants fit me well though were a bit tight on my calfs first wear. I do have to wear a belt, otherwise the tighter calf pulls down the not so tight waist giving it a saggy crotch look no one is going for. I had to go a full size up in these from my Kaylas. (Which actually makes this pant more true to size) For reference, I'm 5'6"/145lbs. Own multiple size 6 Kara/Kaylas. Solidly an 8 in the Essex. I'll try to update my review after multiple washings, as I am concerned about the black pair fading.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I am 110#, 5'4". I usually wear a 00 in Prana but they make so few of their pants in that size so I decided to take a chance. These pants are a little loose in the waist and not super fitted in the legs. But with a belt they look nice enough for work and I like the lightweight material (especially since I don't have air conditioning at work).I bought them in wedged wood (the color name should've been telling), which looks purple in the pictures but it's actually brown (no at all purple looking).
