Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instant Favorite This is now my favorite piece of clothing. I've been using this while climbing, running, biking, hiking, anytime I'm out in direct sunlight I throw it on. I love that I can go all day without worrying about sun exposure. The fabric is very light and stretchy; it feels amazing! It does a great job keeping me cool since it prevents the sunlight from directly hitting my skin and breathes very well when my activity level jumps up. I love pulling the hood up to cover my neck and sometimes over my face while I catch some ZZZ's in my hammock. This is now a permanent member of my warm-weather quiver and I will definitely be buying it in every color next year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great piece of clothing! Bought two of these for a 10 day raft trip down the Grand Canyon and couldn't have been happier. Good for both cold and warm days, feels great on even with a bit of sunburn, dries pretty quickly, colors (bright blue and crimson) are great, stayed relatively odor free, and held up well when scraped against rocks and thorns. One of my favorite pieces of clothing! It does fit a bit boxy so if you are looking for more slim fit, this might not be it. The hood sorta fits weird too. I'll never use the hood on my head but it does help keep the sun off the back of your neck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quite wonderful sun protection--really a game changer! I bought this on spec because I really have to avoid sun exposure; all those stupid hats with flaps are a drag, get lost, have to be lugged around, etc; lathering your whole body with sunscreen is an even bigger drag and so time-consuming, not to mention messy and expensive. Used it for first time in Mexico City last weekend and it was wonderful. Fabric much cooler than other long-sleeve solutions that I use, and more comfortable because so stretchy. Hood pops on or off when you move in and out of the sun. Hood is large enough to give protection for the face at high noon. Sure, you look like the Unabomber with the hood on in urban settings, but you look equally dorky with a sun hat that protects the neck, and with this hoodie you can at least flip the hood off when you don't need the protection. Plus my style-conscious adult kids envied it, thought it was the most "local" looking article of clothing any of us had (with the hood down, of course)--I am on this website now to buy each of them one of these shirts. In my life, this is a technological breakthrough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The essential hoodie Calder hoodie gets close to perfection. Like the weigh, silky feel, and the cut of this versatile hoodie. It's works great as a layer in cooler weather and solo when warmer. For camping when you need a little cover when you're sitting around a fire it works well and it's also a great beach garment to cover up from the sun as well as to warm up when the day is ending and you want to linger for a sunset. This is should be an essential hoodie for you as it is for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I also got the longsleave in gray. They have become my new favorites. I spend a lot of time on the water during the summer and this shirt is great for kayaking, boating or even hiking. Its dries really quickly. It help take off the chill in the mornings and evenings but somehow also stays pretty cool in the heat. I usually wear the hoody when kayaking. If I get splashed or a light rain while I'm out, the shirt is usually dry by the time I get back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hoodie! perfect for the beach I really enjoy this item. I wear them around the house all the time and to the beach. I hate putting on sunscreen so the hoodie is perfect for me. It's light weight and breathable so I never get too hot. The only downside is that the pocket is pretty small, I can fit an iPhone in there, but not comfortably and I cannot close the zipper when the iPhone is in there. Overall, it's a fantastic item. Plus who needs their phone at the beach anyway???

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thin, stretchy, perfect. I love this hoodie. I ordered a Large (Climber and Crossfitter, 5'9", 180lbs/81kg). I might have ordered a bit big but I generally don't fit too well in prAna's medium sized shirts. This shirt fitts pretty well and the cuffs rest on my wrists. Very comfortable!PrAna, would love it if you started making more stretch tops! Especially button down shirts I could wear into the office with my Stretch Zion pants (which I love!!!).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super sun shirt I live in the desert southwest and had a hard time finding a light enough to hike in sun shirt. Crisis averted. I found it with this one. It's light enough for strenuous activities but helps block the sun. It also is wicking but lets water stay on you for a bit so you can stay cool. The zip pocket on the outside is super nice for stowing keys or a credit card for a bike ride or morning run. This shirt rocks!

I'm 5'9" 145 lbs what size is best?

Asked by: Todd
I would go with the small. I'm about your height and a bit heavier, and I have one in small and one in medium. Both are fine, but I prefer the fit of the small. It's trim without being tight.
