Meet Mario, co-founder of Un Mar de Colores, and his partner, Gabby. 

Since 2021, we’ve been proud to partner with Un Mar de Colores, an organization that doesn’t simply open the door to the ocean but walks through it alongside young people who have been made to feel that the water wasn’t theirs. 

Through surfing, surf therapy, environmental education, and mentorship, Un Mar de Colores helps nurture the next generation of ocean stewards. Its programs break down systemic barriers to ocean access while creating space for healing, joy, confidence, and leadership. 

Our partnership is grounded in participation. prAna’s DEI team works closely with Un Mar de Colores through sample-sale fundraising, volunteering at Surf Fiestas, and sponsoring its Cinco Años celebration. 

Last year, our community came together to raise $10,000, enough to fund a full year of ocean connection for 13 students. 
That support helped provide more than 120 hours of free surf therapy and environmental education, seven eco field trips, five surf therapy days, and one unforgettable Cinco Años celebration.  

The impact goes beyond time spent in the water. When young people are welcomed into spaces where they can feel supported, capable, and fully themselves, a deeper sense of belonging begins to take shape. One that can ripple through an 
entire community. 

Meet Ryder, Founder, and Sarah, Co-Director, of Dear Tomorrow, a working arthouse where creative and curious minds come together to make with their hands, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. 

We’ve been proud to support Dear Tomorrow’s Artist Residency Program and co-host variety of events that invite our community into the creative process since 2025. 

At Patchwork Playground, we wrote poetry and transformed old clothing using upcycled and unused materials from prAna. From community dinners for Earth Day and Friendsgiving to hands-on workshops, each gathering offers an opportunity to connect, reflect, and imagine a more thoughtful future together. Dear Tomorrow, reminds us that creativity is not a solitary act. It grows through participation. When people have the space to experiment, share what they know, and make something meaningful together.

Meet Makenzie, founder of The Good Loop, an organization transforming the way communities experience fashion through joyful, sustainability-minded, and accessible clothing swaps. 

Makenzie started The Good Loop to make shopping more sustainably available to everyone. By keeping its clothing swaps free, the organization removes an economic barrier that can prevent people from participating in more circular ways of dressing. Clothing left at the end of each event is donated to local shelters, extending its usefulness to people throughout the community. 

With more than 12,000 attendees and over 30,000 gallons of clothing diverted from landfills, The Good Loop demonstrates how individual choices can become collective change. A garment passes from one person to another. A practical need becomes a shared experience. What might have been discarded finds a new story. 

We’ve been fortunate to partner with The Good Loop on three clothing swaps, most recently at The Ecology Center, 
a historic, 28-acre Regenerative Organic Certified™ farm and education center serving as a hub for Southern California’s ecological movement. 

Our work with The Good Loop reflects a belief we share: the things we value deserve to stay in motion. Clothing can circulate. Knowledge can be exchanged. And community can turn a simple act of sharing into something much bigger.
