Alex Johnson Wins Vail World Cup
Vail, CO —At the Vail Bouldering World Cup in Colorado, held at the Teva Mountain Games, prAna athlete Alex Johnson stunned everyone by winning the women's competition. prAna athlete Paul Robinson made the podium in the men's bouldering competition finishing third.
Although Johnson, 19, was second at the U.S. bouldering championship in February, she had never competed in a Bouldering World Cup. However, she had done well in international speed climbing comps. She was third in her age group in speed at the World Youth Championships in Austria in 2006, and second at the World Youth Championships in 2005; she also finished fifth in speed against adult competitors at the International World Games in Germany in 2005.
Congratulations to Alex, Paul and the rest of the competitors.
