Francesca Metcalf

Francesca Metcalf

Francesca discovered climbing at the age of 5 while taking gymnastics at a gym with a climbing wall. She instantly fell in love and started to compete three years later in youth sport climbing. Although she started out as a rope climber, she has since developed a passion for bouldering, which is how she now spends the majority of her time. She won her first youth bouldering nationals in 2005 and has won every year but two since then. She is also both the youth and adult continental champion in bouldering. Competitions motivate her to push her limits and learn new things about herself, climbing and the world.

Francesca is heading to Georgia Tech in the fall to study Biology, but hopes to continue to travel and compete at the same level and climb outdoors even more. She also hopes to continue her coaching career, which she started at the Rock Spot in 2010 because she loves working with new, young climbers and sharing her passion with as many people as possible!.
