Paul Robinson: Sipura Indonesia
Each August, I like to give my body a few weeks rest from climbing to clear my head as well as get rid of little injuries and tweaks that my body has sustained over the course of the year. This year, I made the incredibly long journey from my home in Boulder Colorado to the small island of Sipura off the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia.
I packed my surfboards, a few pairs of board shorts, and some tank tops and left the country without any climbing gear. It felt strange, as i cannot remember the last time I went anywhere that was not for climbing. However, how could I complain, I was heading to a remote island to go surfing for two weeks in the warm turquoise blue Indian ocean.
The trip itself was incredible! The scenery, the food, the people and everything in between made for an unforgettable experience. I cannot wait to return again to that magical island. I will let my pictures from the trip speak for themselves. enjoy!
