Access Fund: Commit to The Pact
The Access Fund believes that in order to ensure the future of climbing access in America, we must inspire climbers to embrace responsible habits and behaviors that will keep climbing areas open and conserve the climbing environment.
To this end, Access Fund has partnered with BD Equipment to launch the ROCK Project. This initiative works to engage the climbing community and activate positive social norms, backed by consistent educational content, messaging, and programming that is specific to regional access issues and environmental concerns.
Ultimately, climbers that are stewards and responsible users of outdoor climbing resources promote a positive identity for themselves and climbers as a whole, mitigating threats to access. ROCK Project is at the center of this movement.
About The Pact
The Pact is a promise or covenant between climbers to practice a set of responsible outdoor ethics that protect climbing access. The Pact outlines 10 responsible outdoor behaviors and asks all climbers to commit to each other—as a tribe—to practicing these behaviors in order to protect climbing access.
