Paul Robinson & Jimmy Webb Climbing in Penoles

I had heard about Penoles for quite some time. It has been known as the untapped Hueco Tanks of Mexico.

After years of waiting and the fear of traveling to Mexico, I finally decided to make the trek down there with a group of psyched climbers including Jimmy Webb and film makers.

After the long drive down there from Colorado we were all amazed at the climbing potential that the area had to offer.

We began the trip by trying many of the established classics of the zone. While climbing thorough the classics we began to notice the multitude of amazing first ascents to be done. The brushes and ropes were soon picked out of our luggage and we began cleaning lines all over the area.

After about three weeks in the desert we had climbed a lot of the hardest established climbs in the area and even established many of our own. The rock there is amazing and the potential is limitless. I cannot wait to return to Penoles again next year!!!
