LUNA Pro Team #1 In The World!
prAna is a proud sponsor of the 2013 World Champion Luna Pro Team!
After the final World Cup round, the LUNA Pro Team has become (once again!) the number one women’s cross-country mountain bike team in the world.
With consistent determination, performances, and results at every world cup event this season, the team earned enough points (360) to surpass close-runner Giant (330 points) to take the team classification overall.
Catharine Pendrel was team tops at Hafjel crossing the line in 7th place, Katerina Nash settled with 11th, and Georgia Gould not far behind in 20th.
Katerina finished an impressive third overall in the 2013 world cup points standings, Catharine seventh and Georgia 17th.
Nash started off well in the chilly Norwegian conditions, but in the first lap was knocked over the bars onto her hands during one of the rocky descents. This also knocked her off her rhythm, and she spent precious energy catching back up to the front group.
Catharine Pendrel was also in the mix up front, and for much of the race was even riding in the sixth spot.
Russian star Irina Kalentieva won her eighth career World Cup on the rocky and hilly 4.1 km course.
Eva Lechner was just behind, allowing her to surpass Katerina to take the second overall world cup spot.
