Great pant except for DWR
I love the design, and fit of these pants. The Dark Ginger is one of my favorite colors and so hard to find in women's pants. Please make other items in this color line! I was looking for a flexible outdoor pant to wear in the woods and these are great. However, the DWR treatment, which I discovered is actually Scotch Guard, is completely unnecessary for me and I would imagine for a majority of the people buying this kind of apparel. Scotch Guarded fabric is a major contributor to PFCs absorption in humans and is highly toxic for the environment in it's manufacturing. Would it be possible to make two lines of this product, one without the DWR for those of us trying to be conscious about what we put on our bodies? Personally if I'm going to be out in a rainstorm, I'm going to be better prepared than relying on everyday hiking pants to keep my dry. Please consider removing the DWR treatment from Prana clothes.

Ecstatic about these pants!
I wear these for work in a physical therapy office, and just hanging out.

I have a difficult time finding pants that fit my figure: I am a fit 5' 3", 121-124 lbs, but an "apple" by nature. No hourglass figure here. Cross-wise my hips are barely wider than my rib cage. Strong core keeps my waist on a straight line between the two – I guess they call that a rectangle, now. I have decent curves on my backside from squats and lunges…if not for those, I'd have no butt at all. When I was younger I wore boys jeans; when I was in my 30's and overweight I almost needed an elastic waist…because when I gained fat, that's where it went.

These pants are amazing for me. Fit my butt just right, not too tight for work, but a shapely fit with a hint of roominess and just the right amount of stretch. I can bend and stoop to do exercises with patients. I can also sit in an office chair for a while and not worry that when I get up I will have droopy drawers. The rise is not so low that I worry about a rear show if I bend over, but not so high that I get that "sausage" look on the sides. I have received many compliments on them because they fit in the casual office setting, but look cool, too. I like that the leg bottoms are a little wider below the knee, but not too flared - very flattering and feminine. They're so comfortable, I feel like I am breaking the rules when I wear them to work.

I have a 30-31" waist (depending on time of the month), and 37.5" hips. I have the size 6R in both the khaki color (several) and the charcoal. Had to have them hemmed about 1-1/2", but didn't mind because it is so rare for me to find pants that fit like this everywhere else. I do line dry them, and hit them with a cool iron for the office.

Hope this wasn't TMI. I always appreciate details from other customers, especially if it saves me a trip to the post office with a return.

Prana, please consider offering more colors, or even bringing back the colors that are out of stock, now.

Disappointed now.
You will recognize my name below in a review about how ecstatic I was about these pants. Quality wise, nothing has changed.

HOWEVER, I have now received 4 different pairs of these pants in an attempt to increase my work wardrobe (2 gravel, and 2 charcoal) and all 4 of them are a full size larger than the ones I reviewed below. Wider legs, bigger waist, and higher rise. I ordered a 6R like before.

It's hard to tell if these are still the same proportions as before because of the overall bagginess. The original pair had a smooth fit like pictured on the model. These are not even semi fitted, back of the thigh area looks and feels too roomy, and fabric kind of bunches up in the crotch.

I'm hoping it's just that everything was sized up and a 4R will fit like my current 6Rs. Not happy at all about having to pay return shipping for a discrepancy like this...especially within only a few weeks of my original order. That just doesn't sit right with me.

So, I loved the ones Prana sent me a few weeks ago, but am disappointed in my current "crapshoot" experience.

Can't recommend, or not recommend, now, because I have no idea which version the next customer will receive.

Not to mention, return shipping just pushes a fairly expensive pair of pants into the unaffordable range. Hope I don't have to return the 4Rs, too.

Annoyingly Impractical
These pants were recommended to me by some friends so I got a pair, expecting them to be great climbing pants; I've been severely disappointed.

Especially in contrast to the related men's pants, these are full of impractical details that really ruin the pant for me and turn it into a hindrance while climbing. It's like someone asked, "how can we take these great men's climbing pants and make them for women? I know, we'll just add lots of frilly useless parts!"

The knees are darted way too much, just to emphasize leg shape, but this makes them more uncomfortable than a simple straight or slightly tapered leg. As a result, the leg openings flare out so I can't see my feet clearly when climbing.

This annoyance is addressed by snaps on the calves to allow the pants to be rolled up. In practice, I never want them rolled that far up so I don't use the snaps and they drag across rock when I'm climbing.

Speaking of random snaps, the back pockets (which are too shallow to be practical, as are the front pockets) close with metal snaps. Don't every try to scoot down a boulder you've just climbed; the pockets will pop open and the metal will drag down the rock.

Aside from those things, the fabric is stretchy and pretty durable, but I never wear mine because these completely unnecessary details are so annoying. Instead I have opted to shop elsewhere for rock pants. A serious disappointment.

A little let down
As a mountain guide, I see all kinds of gear and outdoor clothing. I essentially live this life day in and day out so I want to look good sometimes and I was really exited about these pants. They looked good on my friends and you know what they say..."you look good, you hike good". Unfortunatly these friends were tall and slender and I am petite with an athletic build but the pants just looked so good on them I had to get myself a pair and here is what I found....

Pros: good looking, great materials, good color choices, nice that it comes somewhat shorter for us vertically challenged.

Cons: large waist, small legs...had to order a size up but now the waist is a little too big and bunches with the drawstring. I am 4'10" and 100lbs
small pockets! I hate this feature. i cant even put my phone in the pockets and I do not own a large phone. I prefer function in athletic apparel over fashion. and buttons on the back pockets are metal and scrap against rocks. there are waaaaaay better designs out there now that dont even need a button! (i.e womens happy hike pants from patagonia) These pants are not only a little better of a design...they're cheaper.
I hate the articulated knees since im so short it really limits my possibilities. I am 4'10" and the short version is still 6" too long and the knee articulation hits right below my knee which is annoying. Luckily i know its an easy stitch to take out and fix myself although when one pay SO much for a pair of pants you would hope that you wouldnt have to tailor last thing...being so long means that the roll up feature just makes it fit like regular pants on me haha. these are NOT for the petite. I would recommend them to a friend that has a build like your tall, skinny models but not for a person like me.

The new favorite
I am completely head over heals for these pants. I bought them initially for a camping trip in Iceland. They were perfect - no wrinkles, easy to clean, quick to dry, great stretch. It was nice to find a pair of travel/hiking pants that had the attributes of the typical dowdy cargo zip-off hiking/travel pants, but are attractive!
The photos on the model definitely do not do them justice.
I do have a few criticisms:
-Pockets could be deeper, in back and front. Iphone 6 does not fit in either. The zippered thigh pocket does though.
-The ScothGuard DWR lasts all of about one wash. The fabric itself dries quickly but the ability for water to bead up is lost quickly with use
-Sizing, though consistent with Prana's other pants, is 1-2 sizes smaller than I normally wear in other brands. I'm 5'4" and the short length is perfect (Hallelujah no hemming!!)

Really darling! A LOT better than the pictures
I just have to say that the pictures of these pants are horrible! I own 3 pairs and they look SO much better on me than they do on the model. Just saying, it's like they didn't stick her in the right size or length or something. Frumpy picture but not in reality. These have the option for rolling up for a capri length, but if you order a tall version, that really isn't realistic as its much too much fabric that you are trying to bunch up and looks ridiculous. But I bought for traveling pants for work and they have seen regular life and war zones and been good to me through it all.

My New Favorite Pants!
These came in the mail just a few days after I ordered them.

Perfect pants for just about anything
I broke my leg a few months and needed a pair of pants that weren't too tight for my swollen I purchased these, and I am so happy I did! They are loose fitting but still flattering and go with just about anything. Not only can I wear them to work and be comfortable all day, but I also climb in them regularly and have no problems. The hardware does occasionally get scratched while climbing, but it hasn't been an issue, as all the buttons are still fully functional. Overall, these are the only pants I need in my life!

On a side note, I wear a 4 in most brands, but a 2 in Prana!
