Bronson, you've changed.
After searching for several years for the perfect non-jean pant, I found the Bronson. They were perfect. The gusseted crotch makes them stand up to cycling much better than normal pants. The fabric was tough. I had 3 pair that I wore all the time. The last batch of three I bought have changed. The material is not as thick. And they are way, way, baggier. They are huge. Like Jenco Jeans huge. Please go back to the golden age of the Bronson.

Great pants but babies than before.
I have purchased four pairs of these pants over the past several years and at different times. All of those pants fit great and the exact same way. I recently ordered three pairs and all of them were a lot baggier than before. I laid an older pair on top of them and there is considerably more fabric used for the new ones. I had to return them due to this. I REALLY hope that prana recognizes this and starts making these truer to their original design. I am not giving up yet!

Prana: please tell me more pants will soon be offered in 36 inch inseam?!

Really great pants but ....
I bought three pairs of Bronson pants a year and a half ago. They still are great but beginning to show a bit of wear after being worn week in and week out. So I bought another three pairs. To my dismay, the external leg pocket on these new pants is now half the depth (2.5 instead of 5 inch minimum depth), which makes it useless for carrying my iPhone. So I am giving the current version three stars and have returned the pants. If the leg pocket were lengthened to its original depth, I would be among the first to purchase these pants again. Everything else is great.

Great pants, confusing colors.
First off, I love these pants. I own several pairs in different colors. If you have purchased a previous generation of these pants, you may or may not be glad to hear that the right leg 'phone pocket' is much deeper than it used to be and the pants are overall a touch bigger for a given size.

That being said, Prana, we need to talk about the colors. They are confusing in name and do not match reality. I purchased and returned a couple of pairs of pants as I tried to work out WHICH colors I already had. This shouldn't be so difficult. For other folks, here's a bit of a breakdown of what I've purchased/seen...

- Mud = This is the one I had the greatest trouble with. Mud is usually brown (in my experience) and these have no brown in them. They are gray. I already had gray pants that I assumed were pewter. Nope. Gray is this color. It's a fantastic color but if you're expecting any brown, you'll be surprised.

- Charcoal = MUCH darker than the picture reflects. Borderline black. This makes sense given the name but NOT the main picture above. The extra pictures seem to reflect the color accurately.

- Cargo Green = True to color.

- Rustic Bronze = True to color.

Hope that helps someone! Pants are great. I wear them for everything from rock climbing to light yoga to work (office setting).

These please all round
Nice medium weight canvas material. It may only be 2% spandex. But that serves to work a charm and translates to add'l give that I sense and appreciate. I'm a medium frame guy of 5' 11", 155 - 160 lbs. Went with 33" x 32". These honestly couldn't be a better fit. Probably not the best choice for someone with more junk in the trunk and or burlier, thicker 'athletic legs.' But that's not offered to suggest that these are slim cut. They aren't. I find them a great medium cut. I'm a fan of the deeper front pockets and appreciate the doubled center back belt loops. It would appear that the fabric's doubled on the back down at the cuff. -A wear deterrent that would build in longevity. Unfortunately, that's not the case. It's just the way they're pieced together and sewn that that's suggested. But I expect these will wear long and well (triple needle stitching all over the place) and give me plenty of life and performance all the same. Not owning a cell... I don't care about the add'l side pocket. But by the looks of the opening... I'd think it'd be a bit too small to prove useful for that purpose with many phones. Really pleased with these (In charcoal. Handsome color.) Very well might double down.

I loved this fit so much, I have all 3
I really like this pant, I've worn them everywhere from Church, work and play, Pockets have great room with out fear of losing things (knife, keys). Color is better in person than on screen.

Simple comfort
Working as an expedition leader for scientific field research in Mongolia, I have to wear many hats. When in the city, I am regularly required to spend time moving from government office to office, negotiating and organizing permits and other such paper work. For this I have found these pants to have a plan and stylish appearance that does not make me look like some dirt bag climber.

Yet once we leave the city and head for the high country, these pants are comfortable and durable enough for long days of hiking.

I will say though, when brush or rock gets really rough I do switch out to different pants in order to preserve them, as I would only rate their abrasion resistance at moderate.

However, they are a good value pant and the dark colors really hide dirt and grime well. A quick wash in the river and these things are ready for all my official exit interviews.

Great Pants
Bought a pair of these a couple of months ago, then got another pair a month later because my wife said I shouldn't wear the same pants every day. They have replaced jeans as my go-to pants. They fit great, are made of organic cotton and two percent spandex for just the right amount of stretch. The pockets are deep, the cell phone pocket on the leg is in the right place. The color for the two pairs I got is something called "mud," which I hadn't considered a color, but, whatever, I like it. If there's anything "wrong" with these pants, I haven't found it. Highly recommended.
